Jane Austen

Jane Austen was born in Steventon, Hampshire, on December 16, 1775, and was born a month later than her parents expected. The winter of 1776 was particularly harsh and it was not until 5 April that she was baptised at the local church with the single name Jane. In 1783, Austen and her sister Cassandra were sent to Oxford to be educated by Mrs Ann Cawley who took them with her to Southampton when she moved there later in the year.

Jane Austen has inspired a lot of critical essays and literary anthologies and her novels inspired many films like the 1940’s Pride and Prejudice. Her novels also have countless TV adaptations, proving that she’s really such an inspiration in the world of novel writing and screenplay.
